AR crossing game
This Augmented Reality (AR) selection of mini-games was developed using the Unity engine and the Phantom engine SDK. Designed to entertain pedestrians as they wait to cross the road, this project blends cutting-edge technology with playful interactivity.

Created as part of a company initiative, the project was a collaborative effort by me and several colleagues. Due to its proprietary nature, detailed information about the project is limited.

Original concept

To run the app, it needs to detect a wait box and the motion of a human hand pressing the wait button using the mobile device’s camera.
The app has two other types of safe detection:
Only detect the wait box.
Only detect the human hand.
The user can switch between detection modes by clicking the bottom left button on their screens once the app is loaded.
Once the detection is successful, a series of minigames will start. Each minigame provides its own instruction on winning the game.

Project Scope:
Key Learnings:
  • How implement AR mechanics using Phantom engine SDK

Apply AR logic to a traffic related environment to improve the user experience on a Yunex Traffic product and provide pedestrians a real time idea of the waiting time required to cross junctions.

Achievements:

  1. The project won the won the "Most novel use of AR" price.
  2. currently featured in the Phantom engine website at the "What Innovator say" section.
